This study aims to analyze the influence of job placement and professionalism on the performance of employees at the Class II B Rumbai Narcotics Correctional Institution (Lapas) both partially and simultaneously, as well as the dominant variables influencing employee performance. The background of this study is based on the importance of improving the quality of employee performance in order to support the achievement of organizational goals, especially in correctional institutions that have high complexity of tasks and responsibilities. This research is quantitative and uses a survey method. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to employees of the Class II B Rumbai Narcotics Prison. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with partial (t) and simultaneous (F) tests, as well as the coefficient of determination (R²) test. The results of the study show that: (1) job placement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, (2) professionalism has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, (3) simultaneously job placement and professionalism have a significant effect on employee performance, and (4) professionalism has a more dominant effect than job placement. The coefficient of determination (Adjusted R²) is 0.703, which means that 70.3% of the variation in employee performance can be explained by job placement and professionalism, while the remaining 29.7% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of a competency-based employee placement strategy and the strengthening of professionalism through training, integrity development, and ongoing performance monitoring. Thus, efforts to improve the performance of employees at the Class II B Rumbai Narcotics Prison can be optimally achieved.
